Remembering the Wonders of You: Healing Memories

When you feel less than enough,
Remember all the things you have been,
When you feel you can't bear the load,
Remember all the things you have seen,
When you feel that your heart is broken,
Remember that each new day is a fresh start,
When you feel lost in the maze of life,
Remember there's a moral compass in your heart.

Trials of Life & Hurdles of the Heart: Work in Progress

When the trials of life come along,
The storms inside your heart and mind,
Might tear you apart and be so strong,
Because life hasn't taught you yet,
What do think, say or do to overcome,
But every experience in life builds you up,
Into what you can become through life's tests,
Because you are a splendid work in progress.

So every wound inside your heart,
Is your trophy of pain, your victory,
And every storm that you stood through,
Built the strength inside you, so dutifully,
So when you feel you can't go on,
Because life's storms have torn you apart,
Don't give up on yourself or your happiness,
Because you are a splendid work in progress.

Perfectly Imperfect Combination of You (encouragement) (work in progress pending finalization)

You are more than all the things that you couldn't do,
Because you are a perfectly imperfect combination of you,
You are more than any hurtful pain that you went through,
Because you are a perfectly imperfect combination of you,
You are more than any heartbreak that someone gave to you
Because you are a perfectly imperfect combination of you,
You are more than the cruel things that anyone said to you,
Because you are a perfectly imperfect combination of you,
You are more than the tears you wept when hurt visited you,
Because you are a perfectly imperfect combination of you.

You are more than the river that runs all day long,
Because you have a kind heart that beats so strong,
You are more than the pitch black darkness of night,
Because your smile provides the world with a spark of light,
You are more than the wild winds that blow and gale,
Because your mind is full of courage that can prevail,
You are more than a mountain that stands up so tall,
Because your inner strength stands through any turmoil,
You are more than a valley that runs wide and deep,
Because you are the heart of love that your soul keeps.

The Shelter of Our Friendship/A Shelter of Friendship for Our Hearts (Eulogy, elegy or lament for funerals for friends)

Our hearts step into this world solitary and alone,
But sometimes we find friendship,
And a special place that our hearts,
Can call a friendly shelter and a safe friendship home.

Our souls may wander across this earth aimlessly,
As we search for comradery of different kinds,
But with you I found a special friendship,
That gave our hearts joy that holds, cares, heals and binds.

Our friendship was a sturdy, solid footrest of care,
That gave our hearts some relief,
From the harsh realities of the world,
That often render betrayal, painful hurt and disbelief.

Our memories made by our hearts will remain with me,
As I sadly bid you farewell,
Because we made some memorable moments together,
That my heart and mind will always remember very well.

Our friendship was our heart's shelter and treasure,
That made footprints of care in life and stood the tests of time,
Because our friendship was given willingly,
And generously from both your heart and mine.

Our hearts will now be missing,
A vital pulse of life, love and care,
But memories of you will still decorate my heart,
With love and joy even though your no longer there.

So although your heart has grown tired and weary now,
And could no longer carry on,
I'll always cherish the memories that we made,
Which are symbols of love from your heart that you gave.

So I hope that your journey from life was tranquil,
And you have found a peaceful place to rest,
But I will always miss the comradery that you gave my heart,
That stood strong through life's troubles and time's trying tests.

Goodbye is Not Forever

Goodbye is not forever, somebody once said to me,
But now it seems as if our last goodbye really was because your face I no longer see,
The tears I cry cannot express what you meant to us all,
Because one day you just departed without a final goodbye or a call,
Although my sadness cannot bring you back or give you another day,
I hope that you have found a peaceful place to rest now where you can finally stay.

Your soul departed way too soon and I really wish you could still be here,
Because your hand and smile were a comfort to me that I loved to be near,
There are things I should have said to you and things we should have done,
But the train of regrets I sit on now, really cannot be undone,
Though my life must continue now without you by my side,
A part of me left with you, from that fact I cannot hide.

Every part of me will always remember you the way that you were as we wandered through life's miles,
Because love does not just vanish from our hearts into thin air despite life's many trials,
My heart and mind still want to keep your memory alive,
Because through the rocky terrain of life, you always stood by my side,
And although there is no return ticket to your human abode,
I truly hope that you have found peace now inside your beautiful soul.

Memories of our yesterdays formed from tears of sadness are now really all that remain,
As I try to carry on with life without you and silently shoulder the pain,
Although all our tomorrows must be forgotten now because you are here no more,
One day I hope to see you again when I step through heaven's door,
Every day I think about you even though we are now physically apart,
Because you still live within me, inside my mind and heart.
