Wishland: The Christmas Miss Wishlist

Working titles: The Christmas Miss Wishlist

The Story

Summary: When a wishdragon on a trip to the human world to deliver some Christmas wishes for Santa gets caught up in a tangle of mischief, due to a collision with some troublemakers, and then suffers an injury as well as losing the Christmas wishes on Christmas Eve which are stolen by the troublemakers, two human children must assist and guide the wishdragon through the most important night of a wishdragon’s year.  Since the Wishdragon Dragophina suffers some sound, sight and vision issues as well as a loss of power due to the troublemaker’s attack, in order to track down and find the missing wishes they must figure out with the help of Dragophina's Forever After Lands Troublemaker Detector (which they must use to capture images of the troublemakers to identify them in the Forever After Lands Troublemaker which will give them access to each troublemaker’s profile stats which includes their strengths, abilities and weaknesses as well as strategies to help find and defeat them) then follow a trail of troublemaker clues that relate to each troublemaker's character, outsmart and defeat each troublemaker to get the wishes back and then deliver those wishes to other children successfully in order to save their Christmases initially without much help from Dragophina.  Fortunately, however, as the three prepare to face the toughest troublemakers among the thieves, each wish that the three find and deliver helps Dragophina to regain her powers, hearing and vision and also grants the children some of the wishes that are on their own Christmas Miss Wishlist.  Due to some obstacles to happiness that stand in the family's way, as the three venture through Christmas Eve together, Dragophina sprinkles, paints and splashes some Christmas magic across each family member’s heart, life and lifepath path in order to rescue the children’s own Christmas which is missing and buried under the rubble of heartbreak due to a family loss and a busy father who it appears is so wrapped up in corporate deadlines decorated with nothing but prickly holly targets that he has forgotten about Christmas completely and who it seems, needs rescuing from himself.  Written by Jill Thrussell

Synopsis/Summary: When the mother of two children passes away at around Christmas in the years that follow directly afterwards, the holiday season no longer seems to hold any appeal to the children's father who has thrown himself headfirst into work and so, the two children create a Christmas Miss Wishlist of all the things they miss about the Christmases when their mother was present.  One Christmas however, the two children stumble upon and bump into a wishdragon that is caught up in a tangle and has an injury, who it appears needs their assistance to deliver some important Christmas gifts.

In recent years, since there has been a huge increase in demand for Christmas presents in recent years, wishdragons from Wishland often have to lend Father Christmas a festive webby wing by delivering presents during the festive season and because the children's father is very busy with corporate demands, the two children quickly volunteer to help.  Due to their helpful spirits as they start to assist the wishdragon with the special Christmas deliveries and attempt to save other children's Christmases, the wishdragon offers to help them fulfil their Christmas Miss Wishlist in order to save their own Christmas.

Due to the obstacles to happiness that stand in the family's way however, the wishdragon has to splash a bit of Christmas magic across each family member's heart, life and lifepath along the way in order to convince their father to leave work long enough to have an actual holiday, so that he can participate in the festive season as more than just a spectator.  In an attempt to guide and help the family find their way back to the loving times that they once had, the wishdragon must try to rekindle the festive joys and treasures of the holiday season and convince an unbelieving, busy but sad corporate father who has lost his Christmas spirit and who does not believe in magic of any kind that corporate success cannot provide an acceptable substitute or replacement to real happiness.

Once the Christmas present deliveries are complete, before the wishdragon departs and returns to Wishland, a special Christmas wish gift is given to each of the two children but the two wishes have some conditions in that each wish must be made wisely and each wish must be made to make someone else happy, if they would like the wishes to come true.  Since the two children have never been given a wish before, they must firstly try to figure which wishes are wise, who they would like to spend their special Christmas wishes on and what wishes they can give and that might actually make those people happy which proves to be quite a puzzle because as the two rapidly discover, happiness doesn’t come in a bottle with an ingredients label on it and there doesn't appear to be any instructions or maps to help find it.  Written by Jill Thrussell

Quote Scene dialogue excerpt from outline draft:

Wishdragon: Does anything strike you when you look at your children's Christmas Miss Wishlist?  Do you notice anything unusual?

Father: (shakes head) Should I? (glances at list and shakes head again) Did I miss something?

Wishdragon: Yes, you're missing everything and with every day of their lives that slips by, they are losing you as you stand by on the sidelines of their lives like a spectator. (points at some list items) Many of those wishes and list items have your name written on them, please don't let your children's losses in life be two parents because they really have lost so much already.
